Round Steel Air Caster
The round steel air caster module is popular with customers who would like to mount the load module
directly to their load because they are using the air caster load moving system multiple times each day. In such
cases it is far more cost-effective to have the air casters permanently fitted to the underside of the load. The
savings in not having to repeat the process of placing the load modules each time the system is used will be
quickly evident.
It does not have to be a permanent fitting, though. The round steel
air caster modules can be used in exactly the same way as their square aluminum counterparts.
However, one of the main benefits to the square aluminum system is its weight. Traditionally aluminum is far
lighter than steel, and the SA systems weigh in quite a bit less than the steel systems.
You can use the steel system though if you have, let's say, a machine that needs moving several
times a week, and other machines that need to be moved once a month or similar. In situations like this, it is
better to buy one good system that can handle most of the loads that you require to move and simply remove them and
put them away each time you are finished with a load. That would prove to be cost-effective and money saving.
Round steel air caster load moving systems are much heavier than the square aluminum systems. Although there is
no real difference, apart from their weight and shape, some folks choose the steel and some choose the aluminum
modules. Our support staff always goes through your choices with you to make very sure that you are ordering the
correct equipment for your needs.
Apart from the obvious differences in our standard load modules - weight, shape etc., both types
of module are fitted with A-type air bearings - as shown above.
Read about A-type air bearings.
The height of the two models are much the same, as are the height when in the raised or lowered positions. In
fact, the actual air bearings are one and the same on both air casters.
Another benefit to the round steel air caster systems is that
the steel construction is thicker than the aluminum, and we are therefore able to fit mounting plates to them
which assists in the permanent fixing of the round modules to the load. There is also more scope for adding
optional extras to the steel modules. This can be in the way of having "threads" installed at various points
on the module top.
They include everything you are going to need to be up and running quickly - right out of the box.
This includes all air line hoses complete with quick disconnect fittings, all valves and any other hardware
required to operate the system.
Oh yes, and you always get a Hovair Systems operator manual, too. And you can save even more money
if you want to use your own shipping company to enjoy your normal company discounts.
