How Many Air Casters Do I Need?
Many people believe they can use just one air caster to meet their load moving
needs. For instance, if they have a load of, say, 1 ton that they need to move, they wrongly believe that
an air caster with a one ton weight capacity will do the job for them.
Unfortunately, this is not the case, mainly because of balance problems and the safety of the
load and the operator. To use Air Casters to their optimum performance, air casters should be used
ideally in groups of four - working together as a load moving system.
Here's a diagram of a typical 4 station air caster kit system:

You are not limited to four, however. Working from a base of four air casters, you can add more air
caster modules as you wish. This could be to provide additional support underneath the load's footprint.
This would happen in cases where the load's weight is unevenly distributed i.e. heavier at one end and lighter at
the other end. Extra support may be required underneath the heavy end.
You can, in fact, add as many additional modules as you want to depending on the type of load, its weight, shape
and size.
